Ekklèsia and Oikia in the Pauline Management of Space

Abstract
Contrary to the opinio communis according to which the model of the “house church” was forged and developed at the origins of Christianity, in the wake of the Pauline mission inter alia, the present study is concerned with the topographical indetermination of Paul’s ecclesiology and questions its implications on the socio-cultural hierarchies and statuses which conditioned the ancient household and its members.
