A well-tempered duality

Intellectual pilgrimage and nomadism in Michel de Certeau

Andrés G. Freijomil

Abstract

The intellectual journey of Michel de Certeau began with his collaboration to the journal Christus, in the Society of Jesus where he entered in 1950. It is necessary to know the approach of the “first” Certeau, without which, to our eyes, the intelligence of his most “classical” work would remain devoid of any historicity. Among the many methodological possibilities, we take as a starting point his savoir-faire from the combinations of a double and complex path: pilgrimage and nomadism.
