Among the important Reformed pastoral figures of the 20th century, André-Numa Ber-trand (1876-1946) is notable for having not only been pastor of numerically significant churches – including the Louvre Oratory – but also for having held important functions within the Union des Églises réformées or the Fédération protestante de France. The article proposes to analyze the links between his preaching and his commitments, by basing on his sermons delivered during the Second World War, to understand how this pastor, who re-mained in Paris, speaks from the pulpit. These sermons undeniably reveal his commitment to his Church, to his parishioners, and to society.
