Luther révolutionnaire

Récupération républicaine d’une légende libérale (1814-1848)

Daniel Maira

Abstract

During the Bourbon Restauration and the July Monarchy, the figure of Luther is of central interest as soon as one turns to the religious and political origins of the Revolution. This study looks at different liberal and republican instrumentalisations of Luther in historical and literary narratives in order to see how the image of him gets twisted by ideological convictions of authors or by political events.
