Despite the biographical gaps in our knowledge of Du Bartas’s life, it is undoubtedly possible, thanks to the dedications, the escort pieces scattered throughout his works, and the correspondence and documents that have survived, to reconstruct part of the network of relationships that the poet may have established successively: in his native Fezensaguet, during his studies at the Collège de Guyenne and at the law school in Toulouse, and finally at the court of Navarre. Were these relations more Occitano-Gascony than strictly Aquitano-Gascony?
