Abstract

This paper deals with cultural transfers and exchanges regarding the circulation of feminist books. The observing feminist publishing in a transnational approach includes its market and activism complexity – what underlines some structural characteristics of this field which issues are ideological as well as political. For example, organizations are committed to keep their autonomous financial and decision-making power; they also have their own specifics problems about market access. These elements could explain why positions, professional practices or editorial decisions have made case for cultural diversity. This paper attempts specifically the study of french-italian exchanges. At first, the analyse of translations could help to understand part of publishing policies. But the assessment of publishing and reading contexts of both areas leads also to examine publishers choices regarding translations. Finally, we could value the importance of some transnational books in a global space.
