Working Time and Working with Time
Self-creation and Care for the World
Abstract
The general climate of this decade shows that the situation in relation to work and working relationships has deteriorated. The gap between the desire for technical mastery and the questioning of the mystery of being is under threat, while individualism is no longer a factor of resistance. How, then, are we able to envision a new roadmap for work, one that can genuinely nurture the conditions of the good life and correct the dysregulated, even pathological, relationship between the subject at work, in his or her subjective relationship to himself/herself and the world? One of the possible answers could lie in summoning up the notions of temporality, creativity, and ecology, the interweaving of which might hold out the promise of a new narrative at work, based on caring for oneself, others, and the Earth.
